Permanent Residency in Manitoba for Workers, Professionals, & Entrepreneurs
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) offers two different selection processes, one tailored for skilled workers and another for entrepreneurs. Applicants selected by the MPNP become provincial nominees. Nominees must then apply to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for permanent residency.
Skilled workers who apply must demonstrate their intention to settle as permanent residents in Manitoba. Skilled workers are two types, those who are currently working in Manitoba, and overseas applicants. The latter will be assessed on their ability to settle in Manitoba through solid connections and sufficient funds while meeting various requirements pertaining to age, education credentials, skills, work experience, and language ability. Entrepreneur applicants will be assessed as business immigrants and must prepare and submit a business plan along with their application. They also must demonstrate the intent and ability to settle in Manitoba and establish, purchase a business or become partners in an existing business. When entrepreneurs are nominated by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), they receive a Nomination Certificate to allow for faster processing of the immigration application by the Government of Canada.
