Temporary Entry Visa Under the Canadian International Mobility Program
Business travelers who are citizens of NAFTA countries, i.e. U.S.A. and Mexico, can enter Canada as business visitors provided that they meet specific criteria with no intent to be employed in Canada or to enter its labour market while having a source of remuneration from outside Canada. For example, the business and commercial activities of the applicant must be international in scope, operated outside Canada, and pertain to one or more of the following: research and design, growth/manufacturing/production, marketing, sales, distribution, after-sales services, and general services.
Business visitors from the U.S. or Mexico may intend to enter/leave Canada on multiple occasions for one specific project. Canadian immigration officials usually issue a Visitor Record to facilitate re-entry. There are several other important requirements that may be related to your specific business needs as a business visitor, such as where to apply, length and terms of stay in Canada, and evidence of business activities. If you are a businessperson or a company from the U.S. or Mexico and wishing to obtain a business visitor visa(s) to Canada under NAFTA, or if your visitor visa application(s) has been denied, please contact us to schedule a legal consultation*.
