NAFTA Intra-company Transferees

Assisting Mexican & U.S. Corporations with Employee Transfers to Canada

NAFTA Intra-company Transferees

NAFTA Based Temporary Work Permits Under the Canadian International Mobility Program
Under the NAFTA Intra-company Transferees category citizens of the U.S. or Mexico may obtain a work permit to be employed in Canada in an executive capacity, managerial capacity or specialized knowledge capacity if they meet specific conditions such as transferring to a company or organization in Canada that has a qualifying relationship with the company or organization in which the professional is currently employed in the U.S. or Mexico.

Other requirements that must be met include but not limited to proof of employment, length of employment, job description and if applicable evidence of specialized knowledge. Moreover, the company’s subsidiary, affiliate, parent, or branch in Canada, and in Mexico or the U.S. must be actively and systematically operational in providing goods or services.

If your company wishes to transfer employees or executives from the U.S. or Mexico to its affiliate in Canada, and would like to submit a NAFTA intra-company transferee work permit application, or if your NAFTA work permit application has been denied, please contact us to schedule a legal consultation*.
